The Islamented is about change. In the 7th century, Mohammed, the first Muslim tyrant, established the basics of islam. His beliefs were later compiled into the Koran by sympathetic followers. His nephew, Hussain, was the first known Muslim suicide, an act that inspired a schismatic sect, the Shiites. The Caliphate soon surfaced to force Islamic theocracy on all segments of humanity and it thrived for 1300 years. In the 1920's, Kemal Attaturk destroyed them because they threatened Turkey. In the 1960's, Sayeed Qutb, one of the founders of the Muslim Brotherhood, wrote a 30 volume Koran commentary in which he urged the faithful to restore the Caliphate and kill all infidels, as instructed by sharia, Islamic law. His works became the fundamental source that animates and inspires today's terrorists. Judaism traditionally respects all religions. But faced with encircling horror, Israel now believes that the only response to Islam is either by destroying it or altering the religion. The dramatic premise of this book deals wth the latter possibility. |
