Unknown Origin
A cryptic poem
Hashem descended a high rise
Colorado mesa, Montana butte
rock candy, crystal-chimney upthrust
King Afghan's psalms to father Solomon
whispered in Samarkand's markets
retuned in Srinigar's aerie loftiness
doomed to un-remembrance

Hashem plunged to sunken vias
fantastic luminous aqua cathedrals
wave-ridden, current bearing depths
Neptune's song of trireme ventures
quietly drowned in Poseidon's pool
waiting for discovery's evaporation
fated for forgetfulness

Hashem soared bright, shadowed sands
southern beaches, anvilly deserts
Kansas flatlands and frying wastes
windswept oaths and airy promises
Cathay blankets, Magog's steppes
Nazca's decorous stretch-plain
destined for amnesia
