Panacea
A Review by Carol Kluz - Professional Author
back

The quality that stands out in Mr. Rieser's science fiction and fantasy books is his ability to make the unbelievable ... believable. From the first pages, Panacea draws the reader in, not to some outer space world, but right here into our own. The characters aren't superheroes, but ordinary people blessed with intelligence.Roger Keough and his live-in friend, Lionel Perkins, accidentally discover a substance that heals the body while pursuing Roger's lifelong quest to discover the secret of anti-gravity.
Only recently, Roger becomes the caretaker for his wheelchair-bound best friend Lionel, Prior to that, his wife had taken it upon herself to look in and care for his friend. It was after her death that Roger asked Lionel to move in with him.
The two men, along with a few other carefully hand-picked cohorts, wanted to share the healing power of their discovery. While they expected some resistance, what transpired left them facing danger at every turn from the very people they were seeking to help. Even the substance itself proved to have negative aspects, something they weren't aware of ... something that eventually forces them to make some vital decisions about their own futures.
Mr. Rieser shows his remarkable ability to blend the technical and scientific aspects into his writing and still keep it understandable for the average reader. You'll come to know and like his characters. As they face their obstacles, you'll be compelled to keep reading because Panacea is a riveting page-turner. I highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy contemporary science fiction, realistic adventure and thought-provoking work. This would make an excellent movie!
